Status Update! – Where’ve I been?

It’s been a few months since I posted on here last and you might be wondering where I went… WEEEELLLL…

I had several reviews written but one of them just wasn’t coming together very well. It was for a rather technical turn based strategy game. And I found it very difficult to talk about without getting bogged down into boring minutia. So I took a bit of a break. In the mean time I have been pretty busy with life!

Besides work, friends, and loved ones… I have been playing a bunch of games!

Most notably being: Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin!

Without going into a super detailed explanation, SotFS is basically an updated version of Dark Souls II. They released the game with improved graphics and new enemy placements. It’s not an entirely new game… BUT, it’s certainly a new enough experience to justify the price. If you have never played Dark Souls II this is the perfect time to pick the game up! If you have, the changes make it very interesting! Plus the game now includes the DLC!

Here are some of my screen shots from my current time with the game.

Aside from Scholar of the First Sin, I have also been following Mortal Kombat X! Which released about three weeks ago. I didn’t know I was interested in actually PLAYING fighting games until MKX came out. Up until then, I mostly enjoyed the Fighting genre from the side lines. Watching streams here an there.

Unfortunately the PC release appears to be completely broken… So I’ve picked up Injustice: God’s Among Us and will be getting MK9 in the mean time. As basically a complete noob, it’s really interesting to learn a new genre! Although I haven’t tried breaking into online yet, I’m really enjoying my time with Injustice.

On top of those games, I’ve also been playing a BUNCH of Nuclear Throne. Which for all intents and purposes is a bullet hell game. It is very, very difficult. I bought it roughly mid February… and have pumped 79 hours into it… And I’ve only beaten it twice… Yeah. It’s really fun, and you should check it out.

Other than copious amounts of video games mixed in among time with  loved ones, I’ve also been drafting Magic the Gathering recently! A group of friends and myself have been drafting every few weeks! We’ve been playing with the Tarkir Block, which contains Magic’s 65th, 66th, and 67th expansion sets.

Very fun, and very challenging!

Other than that, it’s been pretty much run of the mill work and school. I won’t bore you with that info.

Expect more reviews in the future! I’m also working on another project involving my Steam library. Which I will be posting here!

Stay tuned for more reviews, and updates in the future.
